A Microsoft utility reportedly helps with falling back from one OS to another. It recommends certain areas of the computer to be set up for whatever software or OS is desired and removes programs that are no longer needed.
According to Windows Latest(opens in new tab), it’s now available for those with a Windows store account. The company has hidden the release information for free users but included the option for the program.
Not only were we able to obtain a version of PC Manager, but we also got the chance to test it out. While one-third of its features refused to work, we were still able to stop apps from running or even delete temporary files. That’s how much space it can free up. Such a clean-up job typically requires third-party products like CCleaner.
There is no denying the potential of what Microsoft has in store. It’s still a great idea, and could be an amazing feature if they had time to finish it. It’s all a question of when the app is perfected and ready, and that’s not to say that it won’t happen at all.
One of the newest offerings in Microsoft’s Defender suite is an off-shoot of its well-known antivirus product. It looks like this new product will be available for purchase early in 2023.
So far, PC Manager has been a promising start from Microsoft. Considering its popularity amongst Windows users, it could indicate that the company wants to double down on helping the user better manage their PC and remove the files they want, without them having to go deep into system folders.
