As security continues to increase in importance, organisations are finding it difficult to protect their sensitive data with existing information-security systems. That’s why WithSecure has added a new layer of protection for its cloud-based business software, WithSecure Elements.

WithSecure Elements is a cloud-based security platform that organisations can use to offload their security management to a trusted managed service provider or manage in-house. It provides organisations with flexibility to pick and choose the features they need via different modules, including endpoint protection, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management and collaboration protection.

It’s important for companies to take their collaboration applications’ security seriously. WithSecure conducted a survey and found that this was one of the five most common technical security priorities among companies.

The survey found that securing remote workers was the most common business security outcome sought by organisations. This trend is an indication of how much cloud-based collaboration tools have revolutionized the way employees find and operate in their organizations.

A recent report from Symantec found that collaboration tools are becoming more and more popular, especially on the cloud. However, this new environment is a minefield of potential vulnerabilities. Flying blind with these tools without knowing your way around first can make them an attractive attack vector for adversaries. It’s important to be aware of this quickly.

The survey’s respondents echoed this sentiment: about one in four revealed a targeted attack on their cloud environments in the 12 months prior to the survey, and about one in five said they discovered more than a data breach. Fifteen percent reported a data breach and 6% found more than a breach.

WithSecure Elements’ new Advanced Microsoft OneDrive for Business protection offers greater ransomware defense than ever before. They scan and protect files that are being uploaded to your cloud-storage account and continually analyze them as they change to determine if they’re okay. They’ll be able to provide protection against any threats coming from inside or outside of the company.

Files that are deemed as malicious are run through our secure, isolated, cloud-based sandboxing environment. If anything dangerous is discovered, such as viruses, Trojans, or ransomware, we’ll detect it and prevent it from taking hold.

The company will continue to cover more collaboration tools and expanding to coverage of user analysis, real-time cloud detection, and understanding the relationships between different applications and cloud assets. With Secure Elements, partners will be able to use a single pane of glass for all their digital security needs.

This year, we’re launching our new Microsoft OneDrive for Business protection. Now, it’s automatically included with all of our packages! WithSecure is the best place to find more information about our new offering.
