You might be familiar with the Office app on your mobile phone or Windows device, but very soon there’s going to be a new evolution of that. At the Ignite 2022 conference, Microsoft detailed a new Microsoft 365 app. This new app will be an ideal hub for accessing all of the company’s services and apps for both businesses, as well as everyday folks like you and me.

Microsoft Office 365 is coming next month and should be similar to the existing office application. On Windows, web, and mobile platforms, you can use it to start new documents, access files shared with you, or find new apps and tools from across the Microsoft 365 offerings available. Other than that, your work will be seen through recommendations based on meeting summaries, tasks, and other content activity. And best of all, you can perform common quick actions without switching between different Microsoft 365 apps.

What’s exciting about the Microsoft 365 app is that it contains many of the existing features and new ones that weren’t available with the Office app before. This includes a refreshed feed, which will display shared files from those you work with, as well as content that’s trending and popular at work. This will come in a card-sized format. Other new features include a redesigned apps module to access any Microsoft 365 or third-party app, which will arrive to mobile for the first time. And lastly, there is tagging, which is a way to organize your work.

Microsoft has announced new features in a blog post on their Ignite 2022 website. They are releasing the Microsoft 365 app later in November, and it comes with several new experiences for IT professionals and developers. Looking at the other announcements, like the redesigned channels within Teams, expanded emoji reactions, or updated Editor and Outlook apps, you’ll know that these updates will make a difference for your users day-to-day.
