Microsoft is excited to announce this week’s release of Outlook for Windows! We’ve been working tirelessly on the desktop email client so it’s one that’s a lot like the web version. The new version has all the great features you love, and we’re really excited to share it with everyone who decides to participate in our testing process.

“Since then, we’ve received valuable feedback from Outlook Insiders on Beta Channel about how to create a more consistent, feature-rich experience,” explains Margie Clinton, group product manager on the Outlook team. “We’ve been listening to feedback since May and our team has been working diligently to improve the new Outlook for Windows.”

At our blog, we always have interesting content. Throughout the week, you’ll find articles about upcoming events and new releases that are relevant for people in your job field as a career changer. This week, we’re eager to share a preview of Office 2019 that’s now available on Windows.

Your team wants to try the new Outlook for Windows, but you don’t have time for a full trial? We’ve got your back! For one day only, we’re offering an easy way to preview this new version in a limited setting. All registered Office users can give it a try on November 14th.

Microsoft’s new Outlook for Windows app now includes support for personal Outlook.com, Hotmail, or Windows Live email accounts — something that was missing in the early betas. Microsoft has also added a simplified Ribbon to improve the interface, alongside dynamic calendar column widths for more customization.

Office Insiders will soon have the opportunity to experience the new Current Channel & Windows Mail app to their inbox. Microsoft assures that within weeks, the same experience will also be available to Windows Insiders on Current Channel Preview with a toggle in the Windows Mail App.

While Microsoft has improved the UI and design of Outlook for Windows, it still has a lot of features missing from its emailed-based email client. It seems that Microsoft is working on supporting multiple email accounts within a single app, including support for other third-party email providers like Gmail, Yahoo, and iCloud. Searching for folders and integrating with web add-ins are also on the way. Other visual updates are in the works as well, including new personalization options and native ICS support.

Microsoft has made it clear they intend to replace Outlook for Windows, once they’re at feature parity. That swap could take many months or even years yet, but the first to get that early look is everyone currently testing Office 365 by using Microsoft’s “Preview S.”
