Windows 11’s Notepad application will soon have tabs, according to a Microsoft employee who accidentally revealed it. Microsoft’s senior product manager posted a photo with tabs in Notepad, enthusiastically announcing “Notepad in Windows 11 now has tabs!” with a loudspeaker emoji.

The tweet was deleted minutes later, but not before Windows Central and several Windows enthusiast Twitter accounts had spotted the mistake. There is a Microsoft internal warning on the Notepad screenshot: “Confidential Don’t discuss features or take screenshots.” It suggests that the Notepad tabs feature is still under early internal testing at Microsoft, but it could arrive to Windows Insiders in early 2023.
