In the future, Microsoft plans to place more restrictions on the amount of data you can store in OneDrive. The most significant limit will remove (anonymity) shortly thereafter.

Fear not, Windows 10 users. Microsoft has been working on a solution to this problem and it won’t be too long before it’s fixed. Reportedly, users will need to make changes to their existing Outlook.com email addresses beginning February 1st of next year.
“Microsoft didn’t take away the amount of storage for your mailbox in Outlook.com,” the company wrote. “Instead, it decreased how much of their Cloud storage service you can use. Basically, if you get close to your quota, email errors may show up pointing to a missing Outlook.com account. But that won’t happen! These changes only affect OneDrive.”
Microsoft’s Outlook email doesn’t allow attachments to exceed 20MB, so it’s unlikely that your email even has a lot of attachment. Need the file? The best option is to embed a link to the file in OneDrive, instead.
Microsoft provides a terabyte of storage with every paid Microsoft 365 account. The service also includes additional storage, if you’d like to get more for your money. Sure, one company may have done something bad with their data cap policy, but you can always tweak Google Photos to help reduce your data usage.
An earlier version of this article mistakenly referred to the email addresses that will be removed as aliases. In other words, Microsoft 365 includes aliases that you can connect with your Outlook.com email address. These aliases are being removed as of November 2023, but other email alias features will remain after 22 February 2020 and before then.
Outlook.com is discontinuing the ability to use aliases. The feature was helpful for those who wanted to have an email account that was easier to manage and secure, as well as not show as many ads or marketing efforts. But it’s time for you to know about this adjustment of their service, which also results in getting rid of the alias team (also known as the My Team folder). To keep your identity private and avoid any problems, it may be best to start using a new email inbox, password, account settings, contacts while using Outlook.
If you’re not a fan of the sleek new redesign, you have until November 30, 2023 to create as many alias names as you want. The new feature is being turned off on that day, but it’s not all bad—only the ability to add more aliases is disappearing. Create a few before then and keep them with enough time left over to enjoy using them next year!
