Microsoft has just introduced a new Drop feature that allows for transferring files between your Windows PC/laptop and your Android smartphone. This is even available on Galaxy smartphones, but Microsoft says they’re working on a way to share files between a wider selection of devices running Windows, Android and Mac. According to their blog post, the new Drop feature can be found in the Canary build of the Microsoft Edge browser.

The new sidebar widget will be a drag-and-drop-enabled feature that works similarly to your email client. It will allow you to share links with colleagues or send yourself a message.

Among other features, Drop offers the ability to capture a screenshot and mark it up with basic editing tools. This quick-and-easy annotation can be used for reminders and notes that go beyond one or two lines.

If you’re looking for a way to sync your dropbox with OneDrive, Drop won’t be of much assistance. It is just an interface for OneDrive that requires Edge as the primary browser to work. However, if you are currently using Edge as your primary browser, Drop will be the better solution for you.

One of the major benefits of DropBox is that you can share files by accessing them from any device. This makes it easy to transfer files to different devices, like your computer or cell phone.
