The Windows team has released Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to the public, and is fully focused on Redstone 4 for the desktop operating system now. We’ve seen a handful of preview builds since release, with earlier builds only sent to those who opted into the new Skip Ahead branch of the Insider community. Now, both Fast ring and Skip Ahead insiders are expected to receive Redstone 4 preview builds.

This build introduces new Ease of Access settings that will make your device fit your personal needs. We grouped related settings together to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for and understand the features available. Check out the Ease of Access section in Settings to see everything we have to offer!

With today’s flight we’ve updated the Advanced options under Settings > Apps & Features so that UWP apps that are configured to run at startup will now have a new option to see all available tasks specified by the app developer and their status.

Microsoft Yahei is the font we use to display Windows UI text in the Chinese (Simplified) language. In this build, we’re updating this font to improve legibility, symmetry and appearance based on the feedback we’ve received from our Insiders in China.

We have added three additional weights to Microsoft Yahei in this release. Semilight, Semibold, and Heavy will be installed with the default ZH-CN build. They will be downloadable for non-ZH-CN builds as an optional feature.

We’ve adjusted the glyph sizes to make reading easier. This will increase the character recognition, so it’s a lot easier to see them when you need to.

We’ve created a hinting algorithm that ensures the glyphs will be less jagged when viewed at smaller sizes. This is important when you’re trying to read text on a small screen, such as a smartphone or tablet.

We redesigned the punctuation and symbols in the new fonts, per customer feedback.

Here’s a look at what the new font looks like, compared to an outline of the old font:
