F-Secure, previously known as WithSecure Corp., today launched a new layer of Microsoft OneDrive protection for its cloud-based security platform, WithSecure Elements.

Companies are demanding that employees have more tools to collaborate with each other. With recent advances in digital collaboration, companies expect that workers can collaboratively work while still being securely connected. As a result, organizations are taking steps to protect worker’s data and keep their sensitive information secure. WithSecure found that securing Microsoft 365 and Salesforce had become one of the top five most common technical priorities for organizations.
WithSecure is rolling out new collaborative protection that analyzes files before they are uploaded to Microsoft OneDrive. The Windows collaboration feature protects content from Microsoft Exchange Online or SharePoint Online services, regardless of where it’s stored. It also includes utilization of AI-based threat intelligence, and selective deep content scanning — just like other WithSecure products.
WithSecure provides a cloud-based malware protection service that can detect and block malicious content. If a virus or other malicious content is found, it will be removed automatically or stopped by the personnel in the sandboxing environment.
WithSecure Head of Products Leszek Tasiemski said in a statement, “The adoption of cloud-based collaboration tools is now in full swing and is quickly becoming essential for many companies. However, the cloud is a very different environment and many organizations have yet to adjust. The popularity and lack of security around these tools make them an attractive attack vector for adversaries, which is a significant concern for companies.”
Microsoft OneDrive for Business protection is automatically included in all WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection subscriptions.
