Windows 11 has just received a new update called the Moment 1 update. You can discuss your thoughts about it in this ongoing thread on our community forum. The Moment 1 release brought new features to Windows 11 that were not found in the 22H2 “feature” update, including tabbed File Explorer, Taskbar overflow and more.

There will also be a Moment 2 update, rumored to hit the streets shortly after the transition. And just like Moment 1, we’ll receive more features in this update. At this point, however, what those features will be are partially confirmed.

New build is here and it’s just one step closer to perfection.

Earlier today, at its 8th Anniversary Webcast on the Windows Insider Program YouTube channel, Microsoft was spotted running an internal Windows 11 22H2 Moment 2 preview with build number 23003. It was a pre-recorded demo video of the tablet-friendly Taskbar that explained how the task bar went from its usual 48px tall state to an even taller one for touch-based UX.

If you want to see it in action, simply jump over to the 34:00 mark.

It has been nearly a month since references to the Moment 2 update surfaced, but there have been builds before then. The previous instance happened in early September when the build number was 22940. This means that the company has had a few development builds after that point.
